Amber Snoke is an experienced English educator and tutor who has been teaching since 2009. She holds a Master of Arts in English from North Carolina State University (2013) with a concentration in British and American Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education from North Carolina State University (2009). As a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, Amber completed a rigorous teacher preparation program and was previously licensed to teach English Language Arts for grades 6–12 in North Carolina.
Amber has experience teaching and supporting students across the full secondary and college spectrum, from 9th grade English through college-level 200-level literature courses. She has taught at two North Carolina high schools and a North Carolina community college, where she taught composition, research writing, literature, and advanced English courses. Her experience also includes supporting students at another North Carolina community college through tutoring and writing center services. Across three college writing centers at two institutions, Amber has provided individualized guidance in essay development, revision, research skills, grammar, and academic communication.
Amber has also served in leadership roles within education, including ENG 111 Committee Co-Leader at Wake Technical Community College, where she helped guide curriculum alignment and assessment practices, and Co-Department Head at Smithfield-Selma High School, where she supported department initiatives and curriculum development. She has also served as a teacher mentor for educators in Johnston County Public Schools and Wake County Public School System.
Amber is committed to creating effective and accessible learning experiences for students in both traditional and online environments. She holds an EPIC Master Certification in Online Pedagogy and Accessibility, reflecting her expertise in designing engaging online instruction.
Throughout her teaching career, Amber’s commitment to student learning has been recognized through honors including the NC State Lucinda MacKethan Award for Teaching Excellence, Smithfield-Selma Senior High School First Year Teacher of the Year (2009–2010), and Johnston County Schools First Year Teacher of the Year Finalist (2009–2010).
As a homeschool parent, Amber values the flexibility and individualized approach that homeschooling provides. She enjoys partnering with families by offering expert English instruction, writing support, and enrichment opportunities for students.
Through Snoke English, Amber combines her experience as a classroom educator, writing specialist, and academic mentor to provide personalized English instruction, writing feedback, and support for students seeking to become stronger, more confident writers.
